Everyone, please welcome Violet, the newest member of our
little photography family! Enjoy the pictures of this cutie pie!
This precious little one came into my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon during the first week of
February with her mom, dad, and big brother, Jacoby. They were such a fun
family to work with, and their pictures turned out beautifully. I especially
had fun with Jacoby. That little guy is quite the ham and he knows it! He loves
to be silly. He also loves his new baby sister, and was more than willing to
hold her and give her lots and lots of kisses so we could get some cute shots
of them together during Violet’s newborn
photography session. I know he’s going to give his little sister lots of laughs
as she grows up! You can see how adorable they are together in the middle left
picture below.
Aren’t they such a sweet family? I couldn’t believe how much
Jacoby takes after his dad. What a handsome pair! What do you think? Will Violet
grow up to look just like her mom? Either way it’s easy to see that Violet is going
to be beautiful. She is a very lucky girl and so well loved!
Violet was born just a little before Valentine’s day, and
although her mom didn’t want anything overly girly I couldn’t resist doing a
Valentine’s day setup for at least one of the shots. What can I say? It was
just too perfect to pass up. It’s not often that I have a chance to go all out
with the ribbons and hearts, and the photographer in me just knew that it would
make the cutest picture. Violet’s mom was nice enough to indulge my whim, and
fortunately, she ended up loving it! I do too! I think Violet looks so sweet
sleeping on that swing, and all the streamers and hearts are perfect for
conveying the celebration and love her family feels for her. Anyway, you’ve got
to do something a little special for a Valentine’s baby, right?
We also couldn’t help but play on her name a little by
incorporating some violet color into the newborn
photography session.
There are lots of different purples that can be termed
violet, but we decided on a light, dusky purple that looks really lovely and
blends nicely with the neutral creams and grays we used for the majority of the
pictures. I think it gave the session a really sweet, vintage feel that totally
works for this modern girl. Violet is a beautiful name, a beautiful color, and
a beautiful baby!
It was great to have this growing family in my photography studio and to get to know
them a little bit while we celebrated the beginning of Violet’s life. She was
so good and cooperative through the session, and we were able to get some
wonderful photos to record her brand new babyhood. I know there are so many
happy times ahead for all of them!
