I am so excited to welcome Eric to the blog!
I have been the family
photographer for this little guy’s family since before he came along. In
fact, I think my first session with them was when Eric’s big brother, Tyler,
was six months old, and I’ve been taking pictures of them ever since. They have
such a wonderful family! It is a great relationship.
Eric’s mom does my nails—and is absolutely amazing, by the
way. If you’re in need of a manicure you should check out the Modern Salon here
in Eugene and ask for Kim. Since Kim and I know each other I have been eagerly
anticipating Eric’s arrival for a while now, although I didn’t have to wait as
long as I thought I would. Maybe Eric was as excited to meet me as I was to
meet him, because he decided to make his grand entrance into the world a few
weeks early. I guess he just couldn’t wait to get started on life! I’m happy to
report that he’s doing great.
Eric was a perfect little sleeper during our newborn photography session. Such a cute little boy, and so easy to work
with! As you can see from the pictures below, he just let me do my thing while
he slept…and slept…and slept. I bet his mom hopes he’ll continue to be such a
wonderful sleeper!
I think this wooden fold-out bed was the only prop we used
during this session, but Eric sure does look comfy on it! I think his leg
hanging off the edge is so cute—and shows off his tiny little baby toes to
perfection! (I’m not the only one who has a thing for baby toes, right?)
I love this picture of him in his giraffe hat. Those droopy
ears and that little tassel on top—oh my goodness! It doesn’t get much cuter
than this.
And this little stripy outfit is so adorable too! We mostly
stayed with soft blues and grays for this newborn
photography session, which gives it a very relaxing, bedtime feel, but the
black stripes add a dramatic flair that I think is awesome.
I had so much fun photographing Eric in my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon,
and I have a sneaking suspicion that he had a pretty great time too. Just check
out his grin in the pictures below! Isn’t that the sweetest, scrunchiest smile
you ever saw? I love it! Happy babies are the best, and Eric is one happy
fella.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the pictures of this oh-so-handsome
boy. I am super lucky to know this little guy’s family, not only because they’re
fantastic, but because it means I will be able to continue watching Eric as he
grows up, and continue to record some of the great moments in his family’s
life. I love the opportunities I’m given as a newborn photographer to get to know so many special people and be a
small part of their lives.
