I am delighted to introduce you to Isaac!
This sweet little boy was almost five weeks old at the time
of this newborn photography session,
which was a little unusual. Typically I try to get newborns in to the studio within
the first two weeks of life, but things were pretty busy for Isaac’s mama, so
it we scheduled the session a little later. I know—it’s unheard of for the
mother of a brand new baby to be busy, right?
Isn’t he such a sweetheart?
I would never turn a baby away, of course, but I have to
admit I was pleasantly surprised at how well these newborn photographs turned out. We got super lucky with Isaac’s beautiful
skin. Often babies older than two weeks will develop baby acne. It doesn’t diminish
their cuteness (I don’t think anything could do that) but it doesn’t necessarily
make for the best pictures either. Fortunately for us, Isaac was blessed with flawless
skin that glows throughout the photographs. The extra few weeks also gave his
eyelashes a little extra time to grow, so they were absolutely stunning, as you
can see in the picture below.
Babies grow so fast at this age. I hope Isaac didn’t mind me
bundling him up tight in wraps that were designed for slightly younger little
ones. It can’t have been too uncomfortable, since he slept so contentedly
throughout our newborn photography
session. And I think it kind of suits him, don’t you?
Isaac was born a couple of weeks before Easter and his
session took place a couple of weeks after, but we decided it was close enough
and took a few photos that went all out with the Easter theme, as you can see
below. Bunnies, carrots, Easter eggs, chicks. . .even a floppy-eared bunny
rabbit hat for the star of the show to wear. (Which, by the way, I think he
pulls off magnificently.) I don’t think we left anything out! But hey, I say if
you’re going to do it—do it.
One of my favorite pictures from the session is this black
and white photograph of Isaac. He is such a handsome little guy. I just love
all that wavy dark hair!
We also got a beautiful shot of Isaac with his mama. Isn’t
that the sweetest thing you ever saw? I love being a newborn photographer and getting the opportunity to capture sweet
moments and blossoming relationships like this.
It was such a pleasure to have Isaac and his mom in my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon. I
was so pleased that even though Isaac was a little older than the newborns I
usually work with the pictures still turned out great. It is so exciting to see
the rapid growth and development that happens with these little ones in such a
short period of time. I hope I will get to work with Isaac again in the future,
and I hope you’ve enjoyed the photographs of this amazingly handsome baby boy!
