Please join me in welcoming Robert to the blog!
I welcomed Robert to my photography
studio in Eugene, Oregon near the end of April for his newborn photography session, and had a wonderful time with both him
and his family. They are familiar faces in my studio since I was lucky enough
to photograph Robert’s older sister, Wilma, many times during her first year of
life. It was great to see her again. She is becoming such a big girl—and such a
cutie! She’s got a great smile. I know she’ll be a great big sister to Robert,
and I’m sure they’ll have lots of fun times together!
It was also fantastic to see Wilma and Robert’s parents
again. Ben and Lindsay are such amazing people, and so sweet. I so enjoy them
and their beautiful little family, and I loved the opportunity to be with them
as they celebrated the arrival of their second child.
Robert could not have been a more cooperative subject for a newborn photography shoot. He was super
sleepy throughout our session and let me do absolutely anything I wanted to get
him into the cutest positions for the camera. He was like putty in my hands!
Doesn’t he have the cutest little serious face? I love this
picture of him bundled up in a fluffy white cloud. If storks really did deliver
babies, I think this is how they would package them!
We chose soft peach, turquoise, and gray for the color
scheme of Robert’s newborn photography
session, and I really like how it turned out. The black and white photos blend
in perfectly with the overall color palette, making our collage of baby
photographs really cohesive and seamless. You can see Robert’s big sister,
Wilma, and his dad, Ben, in the photographs below. Aren’t they such a great
little family?
And this is Robert with his mom, Lindsay. They’re so sweet
together. Robert looks super comfortable, and it’s clear to see that he’s a very
loved little boy.
I love welcoming old friends back to my photography studio,
especially when they’re people as sweet as these. It’s always a pleasure to see
these young families growing and changing, and it’s so special for me to be a
part of their lives and to help them preserve the precious memories of these
times. As a mother of two sweet girls myself, I can attest that those days of
babyhood are so fleeting. Parenting is such an adventure, and although, as I watch
my own girls learn and grow, I wouldn’t have it any other way, there is also a
specific joy and tenderness that comes from looking back to those days when
they were infants. It is very rewarding, in my job as a newborn photographer, to capture the mood of those moments in
pictures.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the photographs of this adorable baby
boy and his wonderful parents and sister. They are a special family, and I wish
them luck and happiness in the adventures to come!
