I am excited to introduce you to Clara!
It was a pleasure to have Clara and her mom, dad, and big
brother in my photography studio in
Eugene, Oregon last month for a newborn
photography session to welcome her to the world!
This little one is so pretty—she has the most amazing long
eyelashes and her pink lips form this adorable pout when she’s sleeping. Hey,
as a newborn, sleeping is one of a repertoire of about three accomplishments,
so it takes a lot of concentration—and Clara is making sure we appreciate the
effort.
Her hair is pretty dark right now, but I’m wondering if it
will lighten like her parents’ and big brother’s as she gets older. I also
wonder if she’ll be lucky enough to get those awesome curls like her brother.
So cute! Still, straight hair or curly, dark or light, she’s a beauty!
Clara is baby number two for this sweet family, and her big
brother, Bentley, is so good with her. He is clearly loving his new role as big
brother. He was more than happy to snuggle up with his new little sis during
the baby and child photography
portion of our session, and he was also a great photography subject himself, really
paying attention to my posing directions. Quite impressive for a two-year-old
boy! Mom and Dad have taught him well.
Clara’s parents decided on mostly purples for her newborn photography session, mixed with
some pinks as you can see in the collage above. (I particularly like the
picture of Clara in her frilly pink cap and pajama bottoms—she just has the
best expression on her face.) Purple is not my favorite color on its own—I like
it, it’s just not my favorite—but I absolutely love the combination of purple
and teal together. I think it’s for that reason that the picture of Clara
sleeping on the moon is one of my favorites. Well…that and the fact that her
cute little bottom is sticking up in the air. You just can’t help but love
those patches!
I also love the slightly darker, rustic feel to the photo
below, of Clara napping in the wheelbarrow. The purple worked really well here
to add some color without too much brightness, making baby Clara’s
contemplative face the focus of the picture.
Check out the beauty pose Clara gave me! Even in her sleep,
she knows how to work the camera, and those pearls are such a pretty touch.
Isn’t this a sweet picture of Clara and her daddy? She looks
so content bundled up against his chest, and I’m pretty sure she inherited her
dad’s smile, too!
It was so much fun to have this little sweetheart in my studio. She is such a cutie and was a delight to photograph. And of course, I loved the opportunity to meet her family. They are wonderful people and we had a great time celebrating Clara and creating these photos together. I hope you've enjoyed them!
