In keeping with the spring/summer theme that seems to be
going on—I have another maternity
photography session to share with all of you!
Summer and Ben had their little girl a couple of weeks ago, but
we did manage to squeeze in a maternity photography
session before her arrival. We chose Zumwalt Park as our location—a spot I
don’t often use as it’s a little distance from my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon. Zumwalt Park is located in
Veneta on the edge of the Fern Ridge Reservoir, and it’s a wonderfully quiet
place as it’s closed to traffic and even parking is limited. I feel like any
place near water is bound to be pretty, and Zumwalt Park didn’t disappoint. The
volunteers who maintain the park keep it very natural, and there is an
abundance of wildflowers dotted throughout the grassy areas, creating both a
comfortable carpet and a perfect backdrop for photography.
As you might imagine, there are a lot of options out there
when choosing a maternity photographer,
and I’m so glad Summer chose to book her session with me! The selling point for
her was the variety of maternity gowns I have available for my clients. I know
how important the details are to making a maternity
photography session personal as well as beautiful, so I try to keep a good
selection of gowns on hand so that expectant mothers can find one they really
love. I currently have a dozen maternity gowns to choose from, and I’m always
on the lookout for more to add to my collection.
Summer chose the blush solid and tan sheer gowns for her
session, and I think they worked beautifully with the location. They also
helped to give the photos a very sweet and airy look that is great against the
earthier surroundings.
We were lucky enough to catch a gorgeous sunset at the end
of the evening, and the vivid pinks, oranges, and purples spread across the sky
over the lake created a spectacular high note on which to finish up our maternity photography session. Such a
stunning view. It’s great when nature decides to cooperate with my creative
vision!
Summer and Ben are such great people. It was a pleasure to
meet them and work with them as they prepared for the arrival of their
daughter. It’s such an exciting time of life when you’re getting ready to
welcome your very own little one into the world, and I’m so glad I could be
there to celebrate with them! I was able to welcome their little girl to my
photography studio last week—she is just as pretty and full of life as her
mama, and her mom and dad love her so much.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the maternity photographs of Summer, and keep an eye out for the
newborn pictures of Summer and Ben’s little one. Her photos should be on the
blog shortly, and I’m excited for all of you to meet her!
