I’m happy to welcome Truxton to the blog!
This handsome little fellow came down from Florence with his
family for his newborn photography
session, and we had a wonderful time. Truxton must be one of those kiddos who
loves car rides, because by the time he got to my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon he was so sleepy and content.
He was super easy to work with and we got some great photos—which I hope you
all enjoy!
Truxton’s big sister is two years old, and absolutely adores
her new baby brother. She was very well-behaved throughout our session and
loved holding and cuddling Truxton. She’s such a cutie pie, too! I think she
and Truxton are going to have such a great time growing up together.
Both Truxton and his sister have the best smiles, as you can
see in the photo collage above. I love the upper left hand photo of Truxton
smiling happily to himself in his sleep. Babies must have the greatest dreams!
Makes me a little jealous, actually. I can’t remember the last dream I had that
made me smile like that!
We went mostly with grays and blues for this newborn photography session, both of
which look great on Truxton with his blond hair and fair complexion. I
particularly like the photo below. I think the colors work so well here! We
mixed in some cream and black with some of the other photographs as well, just
to add a little drama.
I really didn’t use a lot of props in this session, just my
tree trunk and big wooden star bed, but Truxton looks amazing in hats, so we
did try several different ones. He just looked cuter and cuter in every one we
tried! Very calm babies like Truxton make it easy to change them in and out of
different outfits, so I love to take advantage of that when I can!
We also tried something a little different by experimenting
with some side-by-side shots where Truxton is in similar poses and/or outfits,
such as this one:
And this one:
I really love these paired photographs. Aside from the fact
that Truxton is adorable, so any picture with him in it is bound to be amazing,
coupling these photographs effortlessly added an additional artistic touch to
Truxton’s newborn photographs. Not
to mention that they’re perfect for announcements, cards, or baby pictures to
give to grandparents and other family members.
I’m so glad I got to be the newborn photographer for this little guy, and that Truxton and his
family were able to make the drive over from the coast. Truxton and his big
sister were both so sweet and fun to photograph, and I always enjoy being able
to spend some time with my subjects’ families and get to know them a little. I
hope I will be able to see Truxton and his family in my photography studio again at some point, and I hope you’ve had fun
looking through his pictures!
