Eugene, Oregon newborn photographer: Welcome Eva!

This little sweetheart is Eva, and I’m so excited to introduce her to all of you!

Eva is another Florence baby whose family made the hour’s drive to my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon for her newborn photography session. I don’t know what it is about coastal babies, but they all seem to be great little sleepers. I know I’m always tired after a day at the beach too, so maybe it’s all that salt air. Whatever the reason, Eva followed the trend by sleeping soundly and happily through our entire session. It made it easy to get some fantastic pictures of her, so have fun scrolling through them!

Isn’t that just the cutest face you’ve ever seen? I get to see cute babies almost every day, so you’d think I’d be used to it by now, but I’m not. I guess baby dimples are one of those things you just can’t build up an immunity to. (Like you’d even want to, right?) And Eva has the most adorable dimples I’ve seen in a long time.

See what I mean? So cute! They show up in her cheeks whenever she smiles. Fortunately, she is a very happy baby who likes to smile even when she’s asleep, so I got to catch them on camera even when she was snoozing.

I can tell you that Eva looks so much like her daddy and her big brother! You can almost always spot physical traits that babies have inherited from their parents if you look closely enough, but it’s fun when you get to see such a strong family resemblance.

We decided to go with very soft, feminine colors for Eva’s session, and I have to say, she really does look great in those light purples and pinks. I don’t think we could have gone wrong though. She’s got lovely coloring that would look good with pretty much anything.

Although we didn’t necessarily plan to, we also ended up with a floral/woodsy theme that I really love. I didn’t realize it until I was putting the collage together, and then I noticed our props: a tree stump and a cradle of flowering branches. Eva is wearing flowers of some kind in almost every shot, which ties it all together so nicely. It gives this newborn photography session a summertime feel that is both subtle and serendipitous.

I had such a wonderful time meeting Eva and her family. Eva was so good and easy to work with, and I love the shots we got of her. It was a pleasure to be the newborn photographer for this precious little girl, and I’m very glad to have had that opportunity. She has a great family and I’m sure is the perfect addition to it. I wish them all much love, laughter, and happiness in the days ahead. They are blessed to have each other!

Eugene, Oregon baby photographer: Hattie is ONE!

Hattie’s mom, Shanna, brought her in last month for a one year birthday cake smash photography session. Shanna (yes, her name is both spelled and pronounced the same as mine!) wanted to do a strawberry theme to go along with the banner and adorable outfit she had made for Hattie. What a talented lady! Looks like when it comes to the sewing machine she is a force to be reckoned with! Both the outfit and the banner were so cute and I was more than willing to figure out something a little different to match.

Eugene, Oregon maternity photographer: Milk bath with Kelsey

Kelsey came in for a milk bath maternity photography session last month. She was expecting a little boy in early November. Needless to say, he is here now! I did his Fresh 48 photos in the hospital shortly after he was born, and will be doing his newborn photos as well. He’s such a sweetheart! Be sure to keep an eye on the blog   for his pictures!

Eugene, Oregon baby photographer: 6-month milestone session with Lily

Oh my goodness, you are going to love the photos of this sweet baby girl! What an angel face! Audrey and Daniel brought Lily to my Eugene, Oregon photography studio at the end of March for her 6-month milestone photography session. Most of the 6-month-olds I photograph are little ones I took pictures of as newborns, but Lily and her parents were first-time clients. It was wonderful to meet them. And we had so much fun together! I usually set aside an hour for milestone sessions, but I very rarely use the whole time with 6-month-olds because they tend to get tired by about the 40 minute mark. Not Lily! She was sweet-faced and smiley the entire hour. I didn’t even want to stop at that point because we were having such a good time. And honestly, she was probably one of the most gorgeous, photogenic babies I’ve ever photographed. She seriously has the most perfect little face! She loved the camera, and the camera definitely loved her! Because Lily was so happy and cooperative, we go...
