Eugene, Oregon newborn photographer: Welcome Twins Cameron and Makenzi!

Is it a boy? Is it a girl? No, it’s both! I am so excited to introduce you to these adorable twins! Cameron and Makenzi are so cute and I had a great time photographing them. I haven’t done many twin photography sessions before, and they are even more work than a singleton baby, but so rewarding, and I love the challenge!

Kelli and Joe brought this adorable pair into my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon last month along with big brother Jackson, who is doing a great job adjusting to the addition of not one, but two new members of the family!

Since working with two babies is so tricky, I always have an assistant with me during a twin newborn photography session. It’s good to have an extra set of hands to help soothe babies. For this session I got some assistance from Amanda Reed of Amanda Reed Photography. She is such a sweet lady and a talented photographer—we traded family photos a couple of years ago. She was a huge help with the twins during this session and I’m so grateful she was able to make it! She really helped to make it a success.

Makenzi was the feisty baby during this session—although you’d never know it, we managed to get such sweet, peaceful pictures of her! She took a lot more feeding and soothing than Cameron, who was incredibly easygoing and a great little sleeper. He was a little jaundiced, which tends to make babies sleepier than usual, and he didn’t wake up once during our entire session—even when his sister screamed in his ear! They both did great though and I got some beautiful images of them. It was so hard to choose which ones to use! In the end, I had so many that I decided to make a slideshow instead of posting them each individually on the blog.

With both a boy and girl baby, deciding on an appropriate color scheme was a bit of a challenge. We ended up using gray and brown as our background colors since they’re very neutral. They made a really nice combination, especially in the collage, where they blend seamlessly with the black-and-white photos. Our main accent color was teal, another gender-neutral choice, and then we played around with just a few splashes of the traditional pink and blue.

It was so fun to do a newborn photography session with two babies! They look so sweet cuddling together, and it was an adventure figuring out how to do some of my signature shots—like baby in mom’s arms—with double bundles of joy. Still, with a little creativity and an extra set of hands, we managed it. I’m so happy for this family and so glad they chose me to be their newborn photographer. It was a pleasure to have them in the studio, and I wish them all the luck and happiness in the world as they embark on this amazing adventure together.

Eugene, Oregon baby photographer: Hattie is ONE!

Hattie’s mom, Shanna, brought her in last month for a one year birthday cake smash photography session. Shanna (yes, her name is both spelled and pronounced the same as mine!) wanted to do a strawberry theme to go along with the banner and adorable outfit she had made for Hattie. What a talented lady! Looks like when it comes to the sewing machine she is a force to be reckoned with! Both the outfit and the banner were so cute and I was more than willing to figure out something a little different to match.

Eugene, Oregon maternity photographer: Milk bath with Kelsey

Kelsey came in for a milk bath maternity photography session last month. She was expecting a little boy in early November. Needless to say, he is here now! I did his Fresh 48 photos in the hospital shortly after he was born, and will be doing his newborn photos as well. He’s such a sweetheart! Be sure to keep an eye on the blog   for his pictures!

Eugene, Oregon baby photographer: 6-month with Knox

It was so much fun to see Knox again last month for his six month mini baby photography session! I’ve been the Eugene, Oregon photographer for this family for a little while now, and I have so enjoyed getting to know them! I did Knox’s newborn photos when he first arrived, as well as his mom’s maternity pictures when she was pregnant with him, and they are just a fantastic family to work with.
