Eugene, Oregon family photographer: Lindsay, Ben, Wilma, and Robbie

Lindsay, Ben, Wilma, and Robbie did their first ever outdoor photo session with me last month. What a blast! The kids in particular thought being outside was fantastic, and it was fun to watch them enjoy a few of the natural beauties Oregon has to offer. I’ve been photographing this family for quite a while now, since Lindsay was pregnant with Wilma, and we’ve had about eight sessions together total, but this was the first time we’ve ventured outside my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon. I loved being in the great outdoors with this wonderful couple and their two adorable children. They are an amazing family and I always look forward to being with them.

There are lots of gorgeous locations around here, (hiking and enjoying nature is a big part of the culture here in the Pacific Northwest,) so we had plenty to choose from, but we decided that Zumwalt Park in Veneta would be the perfect spot for our family photography session. It’s located right on the edge of the Fern Ridge reservoir, so we could include a couple of water backgrounds, and there are some beautiful forest areas full of ferns and lush foliage that I knew would also make for some great scenery. The kids had so much fun out there! As far as they were concerned, this photography session was just an extended play time. Wilma loved picking the wild daisies and dandelions growing in the grass, and found an enormous leaf as big as her head that she was so excited to show us. We made sure to include it in a couple of our pictures, since she thought it was so cool!

The weather was very cooperative, which I appreciated, and although the air was a little chilly the setting sun gave a gentle, warm glow to many of our pictures that was just perfect. We did this session in the evening, and although it was past bedtime for Wilma and Robbie, both of them did great. They were all smiles and kept very busy during our little adventure. Although they were very energetic during our photo shoot, I’m sure they slept soundly when they got home that night!

This was partially a baby photography session to celebrate Robbie turning a year old, but it was the perfect time to get some updated family pictures as well. Both Wilma and Robbie are so cute, and they’re growing up so fast! It’s such a busy season of life when your kids are young and you’re trying to balance work, family, social obligations, and all the rest of it that it can be easy to forget how much time is passing. I’m glad Ben and Lindsay took the time to schedule a photography session to capture this moment in their lives. Feeling like I’m helping families grow closer together and preserving their joyful memories is what makes my job as a Eugene, Oregon photographer so worth it. And what great memories to look back on!

Eugene, Oregon baby photographer: Hattie is ONE!

Hattie’s mom, Shanna, brought her in last month for a one year birthday cake smash photography session. Shanna (yes, her name is both spelled and pronounced the same as mine!) wanted to do a strawberry theme to go along with the banner and adorable outfit she had made for Hattie. What a talented lady! Looks like when it comes to the sewing machine she is a force to be reckoned with! Both the outfit and the banner were so cute and I was more than willing to figure out something a little different to match.

Eugene, Oregon maternity photographer: Milk bath with Kelsey

Kelsey came in for a milk bath maternity photography session last month. She was expecting a little boy in early November. Needless to say, he is here now! I did his Fresh 48 photos in the hospital shortly after he was born, and will be doing his newborn photos as well. He’s such a sweetheart! Be sure to keep an eye on the blog   for his pictures!

Eugene, Oregon baby photographer: 6-month with Knox

It was so much fun to see Knox again last month for his six month mini baby photography session! I’ve been the Eugene, Oregon photographer for this family for a little while now, and I have so enjoyed getting to know them! I did Knox’s newborn photos when he first arrived, as well as his mom’s maternity pictures when she was pregnant with him, and they are just a fantastic family to work with.
