Eugene, Oregon newborn photographer: Welcome Rylie!

Jennifer and David booked a mini newborn photography session for their sweet daughter, Rylie, and I got to welcome them to my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon last month for pictures. Oh my goodness! Little Rylie is such a sweetheart, and she has the most adorable, pouty mouth I think I’ve ever seen. So cute! She posed beautifully for me and we got so many great shots! I am sure you’ll enjoy them—I just wish I could share them all with you!

My mini photography sessions usually include five digital images, but Rylie’s mom and dad couldn’t choose between the photos we got. It was just too tough a decision, so they ended up getting them all! I don’t blame them a bit because their little one is absolutely beautiful and all of our pictures turned out so well. I also promised ten images in their mini gallery, but included twenty instead, because Rylie did such a good job with her session. I shoot for up to one hour with a mini, and I only ended up needing twenty-eight minutes with this little girl, so it was a great deal for all of us! (Although, personally, I wouldn’t have considered it the end of the world if I had to spend another half hour with Rylie!)

Rylie’s parents chose some beautiful colors for her newborn photography session: They went with a gentle pastel theme that included blush pink, coral, and lavender. It’s not a color combination I would typically think of, but it turned out absolutely gorgeous. Super feminine, but quietly so. It’s a very soft, almost understated combination, but extremely pleasing to the eye. We also got to include several different textures: weathered wood; thick, knobby blankets; delicate feathers and rose petals; and silky soft ribbon. It made for a lot of interest without a ton of larger props, which was great.

Rylie was a wonderful sleeper, totally happy to snooze while I clicked away with my camera. She was incredibly easy to work with, and as you can see, very photogenic! Although as a Eugene, Oregon photographer I get to enjoy working with lots of different age groups and stages of life, newborns are a definite favorite of mine. There’s something so special and miraculous about those first few weeks of life, and I love meeting and interacting with families right after they’ve had such an amazing change happen! It’s a memorable and precious time for everyone, and capturing that time for people to look back on is one of my greatest pleasures as a professional photographer.

It was wonderful to have Rylie, Jennifer, and David in the studio and to be a small part of their journey as they start their life together as a family. Mom and Dad are so proud of their little one, and they have every right to be—she is a gem! I am absolutely thrilled for all of them, and delighted that I had the chance to be their photographer!

Eugene and Springfield, Oregon Newborn Photographer: Welcome Bennett

Sweet little Bennett is so lucky to have such a great family.  His big brother is absolutely adorable and his parents are just so nice :)  I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them!  Bennett is an alert little guy!  He wants to be awake and look at my light and take everything in around him :)  Reminds me of my older daughter.  Enjoy!

Eugene, Oregon newborn photographer: Welcome Emmett!

This little guy was so precious! Sarah and Brian brought in their new cutie Emmett for newborn photos back in November. (I’m actually having a hard time believing we’re already through the first quarter of 2022! Is that just me?) He was a total sweetheart! Parents are always welcome to bring special items from home. In this case, mom and dad brought a colorful quilt that a family member had made. Even though our session took place in the fall, the quilt’s bright colors reminded me of spring! It also gave us a beautiful splash of color, since most of our photos were with all-white backgrounds. A blue beanbag and heart from my studio collection of props matched the quilt perfectly. Since this newborn photography session took place just a month before Christmas, mom and dad requested a holiday setup. This is always a fun option if your session takes place shortly before a major holiday like Christmas or Easter. It’s generally easy to work in just a single holiday-themed setup, and these k...
