Ashley and Danny brought their sweet baby girl, Emma, to my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon
last month for a session. As I mentioned in a previous post, I was lucky enough
to have two newborn baby girls to do pictures for that day, which kept me very
busy—in the best possible way! I always love welcoming these adorable little
visitors, and enjoy every minute I get to spend with them. I can’t think of a
better to wrap up a month than with back to back baby bookings!
Emma is sure a cutie! She has very fair skin and it looks
like she’s inherited her mom’s strawberry blonde hair, which is so pretty. Love
those red highlights! Although we did use one hat, we had lots of fun
showcasing her hair with several different headbands. No reason to cover up
those gorgeous locks!
I thought Emma’s sweet round face and light coloring made
her look like a cherub, and in this case appearances did not deceive: She was
certainly an angel for me! If she’s anything like as good at home as she was in
the studio, her mama and daddy are lucky people indeed! Such a peaceful little
sleeper. And she looked so relaxed too. Sometimes babies scrunch up their foreheads
or make pouty faces when they sleep (which is also adorable), but Emma really didn’t
do much of that. She seemed as comfortable as if she was at home in her crib,
and posed for me beautifully.
Emma’s mom and dad decided on a fairly traditional pink and
cream color combination for her newborn
photography session. It’s one of those tried and true color combos that you
really can’t go wrong with, and we even threw a little bit of purple in there
too—just for kicks and giggles, as they say. Purple is one of those colors that
I think redheaded girls look great in, and even though the reds in Emma’s hair
are pretty light and muted, the purple was still a great choice for her.
This was a mini newborn
photography session, but Ashley and Danny just couldn’t limit themselves to
the five images included in the price when we did our ordering session. It’s a
very common conundrum, especially in a session like this where we end up with
so many great photos! Decisions, decisions. In the end, they decided not to
choose between any of the pictures, and purchased all of them instead. I’m
delighted that Ashley and Danny were so happy with the images from Emma’s
session and don’t blame them a bit for not being able to choose between
them—they have one photogenic daughter!
Being a Eugene,
Oregon photographer gives me the chance to meet so many new people, and
this family was fantastic! It was a pleasure to be the newborn photographer for little Emma and her parents—I really
enjoyed the hour we spent together, and hope I’ll get to see them again at some
point!
