Eugene, Oregon maternity photographer: Lea

I had such a fun weekend in Westport, Washington at the beginning of last month! My younger sister, Lea, (there are four of us sisters and she is number three in line) is pregnant with a baby boy—my first nephew. I’m so excited! Little Harrison Jerome (love that name) is due early this month, so I’m getting antsy for his arrival! My husband and daughters and I drove up to Washington so I could co-host a baby shower for Lea with our youngest sister. The baby shower went great and it was such a lot of fun to be with family and friends, to help get things ready for the new little guy, and to celebrate a new life!

Of course, it was also the perfect opportunity to do a maternity photography session for Lea and Nick, and we just had to take advantage of the beach there in Westport. In my opinion, there’s no better combination than the meeting of sea and sky for a photo shoot, and the weather was gorgeous! It was getting a little cool, since we did it in the evening, but the beautiful sunset was totally worth it. It gave such a glow to our pictures!

I loved being able to do this session at the beach! The Oregon coast is only about an hour’s drive from my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon, but that’s still a ways when you’re coordinating multiple schedules and hauling photography equipment, so I usually end up staying a little closer to home. Being right there in Westport, mere minutes from the ocean, was a rare treat. I always relish the chance to get my toes in the sand, and to combine a beach trip with my passion for photography was great!

I also wanted to take the chance to have Lea model a few of my new maternity gowns—which she did a fantastic job of! As a Eugene, Oregon photographer I get kind of excited about any new acquisitions for my studio, and I had a new full length teal, an off-the-shoulder white, and a gorgeous, lacy gray dress that I was eager to put through their paces. Lea was a great sport to model for me, (what are sisters for, right?) and she looked amazing in all of them!

We also did some more casual shots with both Lea and Nick along the shoreline, and even got to show off a few of the gifts from the baby shower. In case you hadn’t figured it out, we can’t wait to meet Harrison!

It was great to be with family and to be the maternity photographer for my sister! I’m so happy for Lea and Nick. I may be a tad biased, but I think they’re going to make fantastic parents, and Harrison is a lucky little guy to have them for his mom and dad. It’s always exciting to see a family growing and welcoming new members—and it’s even better when it’s my family!

Eugene, Oregon baby photographer: Hattie is ONE!

Hattie’s mom, Shanna, brought her in last month for a one year birthday cake smash photography session. Shanna (yes, her name is both spelled and pronounced the same as mine!) wanted to do a strawberry theme to go along with the banner and adorable outfit she had made for Hattie. What a talented lady! Looks like when it comes to the sewing machine she is a force to be reckoned with! Both the outfit and the banner were so cute and I was more than willing to figure out something a little different to match.

Eugene, Oregon maternity photographer: Milk bath with Kelsey

Kelsey came in for a milk bath maternity photography session last month. She was expecting a little boy in early November. Needless to say, he is here now! I did his Fresh 48 photos in the hospital shortly after he was born, and will be doing his newborn photos as well. He’s such a sweetheart! Be sure to keep an eye on the blog   for his pictures!

Eugene, Oregon baby photographer: 6-month milestone session with Lily

Oh my goodness, you are going to love the photos of this sweet baby girl! What an angel face! Audrey and Daniel brought Lily to my Eugene, Oregon photography studio at the end of March for her 6-month milestone photography session. Most of the 6-month-olds I photograph are little ones I took pictures of as newborns, but Lily and her parents were first-time clients. It was wonderful to meet them. And we had so much fun together! I usually set aside an hour for milestone sessions, but I very rarely use the whole time with 6-month-olds because they tend to get tired by about the 40 minute mark. Not Lily! She was sweet-faced and smiley the entire hour. I didn’t even want to stop at that point because we were having such a good time. And honestly, she was probably one of the most gorgeous, photogenic babies I’ve ever photographed. She seriously has the most perfect little face! She loved the camera, and the camera definitely loved her! Because Lily was so happy and cooperative, we go...
