Miranda and Cody came to my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon last month with their two
beautiful children: big sister Monroe and new baby Maverick. Both of the kiddos
did spectacularly well, and the session couldn’t have gone smoother. I loved
the photos I was able to get of this sweet family and its newest member. Enjoy!
Maverick was a great little sleeper, and such a cutie! Like
his sister, he inherited his mom’s fair hair. He’s also got the cutest chubby
cheeks! We got to do lots of different poses and outfits with him since he was
so easygoing. He just slept through the entire newborn photography session, and never seemed the least bit
bothered by anything I did. I always enjoy photographing new babies, no matter
how fussy or squirmy they are, but you definitely won’t hear me complain when I
get to spend time with such a relaxed little one!
We decided on a very quiet, neutral color scheme for
Maverick’s baby photos. I love neutrals! They are generally very easy to work
with, although, as with any other color combination, you have to create the
right balance to get the look you want and draw the eye to the focal point. The
results with neutrals are always so pretty and soothing. I also feel that you
can sometimes get away with using more colors and shades with neutrals. For
example, in this session we incorporated white, gray, cream, brown, and blue. It
would be difficult to get away with five non-neutral colors and keep everything
aesthetically pleasing, but the neutrals provide variety and balance in perfect
combination.
Big sister Monroe was so adorable with her baby brother! She
loved cuddling him and posing with him, and did an amazing job for photos. Since
a newborn photography session can
last for up to three hours, depending on how cooperative (or not!) the baby is,
older siblings can sometimes get a little restless and bored with the whole
photo shoot thing. Monroe did great from start to finish. She was happy and
smiling the whole time, and was an absolute joy to have in the studio!
It’s such a pleasure to meet all these wonderful families
through my work as a Eugene, Oregon
photographer. I really do have one of the best jobs in the world! I get to
do what I’m passionate about, meet so many amazing people, and spend time with
the cutest, most cuddly little ones! It’s the season to count our blessings,
and I feel so very fortunate to be the owner of a successful business that
really is a dream come true.
I loved having Miranda, Cody, Monroe, and Maverick in the
studio, and wish them a wonderful holiday season! What a wonderful time to be
surrounded by family and to capture those precious, sweet moments of childhood.
This is a beautiful family and I hope I’ll get to see them again at some point—I
would love to get to know them better!
