Amber, Grant, and big sister Goldie brought in the beautiful new
addition to their family last month for a newborn
photography session. Glory is such a perfect little baby, and I can already
tell she’s going to look so much like her sister. They have the same mouth and
perfect lips!
I’ve worked with this family many times before in my capacity
as a Eugene, Oregon photographer. We’ve
done photos for birthdays, milestones, and Christmas in past years. Our most
recent session together was Amber’s maternity session when she was pregnant
with Glory. They are so much fun, and it is always a pleasure to see them.
Goldie was absolutely smitten with her baby sister. It was so
cute to watch her carefully hold, cuddle, and love on the new little one. Some
older siblings get jealous of a new baby and want nothing to do with them, but
Goldie was clearly on the opposite end of the spectrum. She always wanted to be
touching her, and didn’t want anyone else to hold her. It was clear that she
viewed Glory as her baby! She was so
upset when she and dad had to leave so I could finish up the baby pictures!
Glory did a fantastic job for me. She slept really well and
we were able to get all the shots we had planned on. What a beautiful little
girl! I don’t blame Goldie one bit for being possessive of such a precious new
baby!
We divided this newborn
photography session into family and newborn pictures, and also had a couple
of different themes. One was a traditional pink, cream, and white color scheme—a
classic for little girls. We used lots of lacy textures during that portion of
our session, to keep a very feminine feel, and also did some neutral-colored
family shots with lots of white. The photos turned out so pretty!
With the holiday season coming up, Amber also wanted some
Christmas themed photos. We used some gorgeous reds and greens for these, and
Santa Claus even popped into my photography
studio in Eugene, Oregon to get some shots with this sweet little bundle of
joy! I’m glad Amber thought ahead to the Christmas season. We got some
beautiful pictures, and she picked out some adorable Christmas card birth
announcements with her photo package.
This is one of my favorite families and I feel so lucky to be
their family photographer! We always
have such a wonderful time when we see each other and I love to get together
with them for each new session. Goldie is always so much fun and I’m excited to
get to know Glory and see how their relationship as sisters grows. It’s obvious
that Goldie is going to take her responsibility very seriously, and Glory is
certainly lucky to have such an amazing family.
Congratulations to Amber and Grant and their family! I hope
that they, and all of you, have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!
