It’s already been a year since I had this sweetheart in my Eugene, Oregon photography studio as a
newborn. She has gotten so big and is such a cutie! I think she looks a lot
like her dad. As she’s been growing up physically, her personality has grown
right along with her! She was a total ham for me during this photo shoot, just
like her big brother has always been. (I did his newborn, six-month, and
one-year photos, and he has always been such a fun, happy little guy. He still
is!)
I’ve been photographing this family for a while now, so it
was great to see them all again. Even though scheduling is sometimes a
challenge, the whole family—Andrea, Shannon, big brother Jensen, and birthday
girl Felicity—was able to make it to the studio for this session last month.
Just as we did back when Jensen turned one, we decided to celebrate
Felicity’s first birthday with a combination of child and family portrait photography, and then finished up with a
cake smash! We had used a cowboy theme for Jensen’s cake smash, but obviously
for Felicity we decided to go with something a bit more girly. As a Eugene, Oregon photographer, I try to
have something for everyone when it comes to backdrops, outfits, and props. We
used pink and gold as our main colors, with some coral and blue thrown in just
for fun. The result was a very bright, spring-time feel, emphasized by the
florals and stars we used in the background.
I loved the matching t-shirts everyone wore, with Shannon
and Andrea as papa bear and mama bear, Felicity as little bear, and Jensen as
the man cub! Such a cute idea, and what a fun and easy way to theme a family
photo session.
Felicity was so happy and had a great time during this child photography session. I loved her
facial expressions and energy! She wasn’t shy at all and had no problem posing
and smiling for the camera. She also had no problem polishing off her cake! Playing
in the frosting may have been her favorite part of the hour we spent together. She
dug in with both hands and even managed to remove the whole top layer. Way to
go, Felicity!
Milestone photography
sessions like this are a great way to record big events like a first birthday,
or even smaller milestones like three months, six months, etc. If you’re
planning on doing a birthday milestone session, adding on a cake smash is
always an option. Just let me know!
It was great to have this family in the studio again. We
always have such a fun time whenever they come in for a session, and their
kiddos are a delight to work with! I’m so glad I was able to help them
celebrate Felicity’s first birthday, and hope I’ll see them again at some point
for updated family photos as the kids continue to grow. Happy birthday,
Felicity!
