Isabel and Edgar are expecting a little one shortly. I was
thrilled to do their maternity
photography session last month! I offer both outdoor and studio options for
maternity photos. Spring is a beautiful time for an outdoor maternity photo
shoot, but the weather in Eugene and Springfield can be a little iffy in the
spring, so having to reschedule an outdoor session or switch to the studio
because of rain is not unheard of. We got lucky on this one though. The weather
cooperated and we had a beautiful, clear evening for pictures.
These parents planned a botanical theme for their baby’s nursery,
so that made choosing a location easy. Hendricks Park is probably the closest
location to my studio that feels botanical. It is also a lovely spot, and one
that as a Eugene, Oregon photographer
I use frequently for maternity and family sessions. Hendricks Park is famous
for its extensive rhododendron garden, and is so colorful when it’s in full
swing. We were a little early—peak season for the rhodies is actually right
about now—but there were a few early blooms that we used in our photos. Even
the park in its off-season is such a pretty place.
Isabel brought her own flowered dress to wear. It fit
perfectly with our theme. She also chose a couple of maternity gowns from my Eugene, Oregon photography studio to
wear: a white and a red. She was absolutely stunning in all of them! I honestly
couldn’t choose a favorite. The combination was perfect too. Isabel’s flowered
dress was ideal for our more casual shots, the red was a great color spot and
so striking against the greenery, and the white was so clean and bright—and
stood out wonderfully in our black and white shots.
If you’re looking for a professional maternity photographer, please reach out to me for details! My
maternity sessions generally run for one hour, and can include your
spouse/partner and other children if desired. Some expecting mothers choose to
start their session in the studio and finish up with a milk bath for the last
part of the shoot—this is a great option that results in a beautiful variety of
images.
A maternity mini session is also an option for clients who
purchase a full newborn session. My mini maternity shoots are twenty minutes and
include five high-resolution digital images. And yes, I do offer mini milk bath
maternity sessions!
If you’d like to know more about the types of sessions I
offer, or are interested in contacting me, you can find more information here.
It was a pleasure to meet Isabel and Edgar, and I’m so glad
the weather worked with us so we could do this maternity photography session outdoors. It really was the perfect
setting considering the theme they had planned for their little one’s nursery.
Getting ready to welcome a baby is so exciting, and I couldn’t be happier for
them! Congratulations, Isabel and Edgar, and best wishes!
