Anna, Rebecca, and Grandma came to see me in the studio a
couple of weeks before Mother’s Day. They wanted to do some cake smash photography for Anna’s
birthday, and also some milestone pictures and three-generation shots. Anna is one
year old and as cute as they come! It was a pleasure to spend some time with this
little one and her mother and grandmother. Enjoy the photos!
We did our milestone and family photos first, using a simple
backdrop of greenery and florals. We combined this with a few props like my
wicker chair and others to give us some variety, and I really like the result.
Anna’s adorable pink tutu and flowery headband were a perfect fit for the cute,
springtime feel we were going for.
It was fun to get some three-generation photos of all these lovely
ladies! What a great Mother’s Day memory. Although honestly, any time of year
is perfect for this type of picture. It’s a wonderful way to pay tribute to the
love and legacy of family, and such a beautiful reminder of the connection
across generations. I’m sure all three of them will treasure these images for
many years to come.
Anna is seriously one of the most adorable little girls I
have ever photographed—and as a Eugene,
Oregon photographer I have a lot of experience with cute kiddos! She had gorgeous
big eyes, soft brown hair, rosy cheeks, and the cutest ever smile! I got to see
that signature grin a lot, since she was full of smiles the whole time and
seemed to thoroughly enjoy her baby
photography session. She wasn’t shy with me at all—totally comfortable and
happy to pose for the camera.
Once we had gotten our neat-and-tidy, all-dressed-up
pictures, it was time for the cake smash portion of our session. We went with
an ice cream theme because, come on, is there any better way to party than with
cake and ice cream? It turned out super cute! Anna even wore an outfit that had
ice cream cones on it, so we were very coordinated. The cake I ordered from
Soft Peaks Cakery was perfect with its upside-down ice cream cone decoration.
I do supply a standard cake with cake
smash photography sessions, but many clients find that it’s worth it to
spring for the extra charge to get a custom creation like this one. In this
case, it really did take our pictures to the next level.
Anna loved her cake! It was so fun to watch her dig in and
demolish her birthday treat. The cone came off first, and it didn’t take long
before Anna was covered in frosting and cake crumbs. Her enthusiasm was
hilarious and we got so many great photos it was hard to narrow down the selection.
We had so much fun doing this milestone photography and cake smash session! I loved the opportunity
to celebrate this special occasion with the birthday girl and her family. Happy
birthday, Anna!
