Eugene, Oregon newborn photographer: Welcome Violet!

I’m so excited to introduce you to Violet! This little girl was an absolute angel for me during her newborn photography session—I seriously can’t remember the last time I worked with such an easy baby. It was a real treat for me and we got so many cute photos. Enjoy!

Ashley and Chris brought their sweet new daughter to my Eugene, Oregon photography studio early this month for a full newborn session with family photos. I fell in love with Violet pretty much instantly, and can totally understand why mom and dad are smitten with her! She was the cutest little thing, with beautiful skin, chubby round cheeks, and the sweetest mouth. And her hair was the best! So dark and soft, and tons of it. I loved the way it spiked up all over her head. Adorable!

Violet was a wonderful sleeper. She put up absolutely no fuss about how I posed her, so we were able to get a ton of shots using different poses, outfits, and backgrounds. Not a peep from this little one. She was happy to snooze while I did my thing—a newborn photographer’s dream!

Choosing the perfect colors is always a fun part of setting the scene for a newborn photography session. Naturally, with a name like Violet, we had to incorporate purple in several of our images. For the rest of the session, we used a peaches and cream motif that turned out absolutely beautiful. It’s a very soft and elegant combination and we made it even more pretty and feminine by using lots of lace and flowers.

When someone books a full newborn photo shoot I set aside three hours to give us plenty of time. It’s always best to have a little wiggle room in case baby is fussy (which was totally not the case here), or in case parents want family shots as well. Three hours sounds like a long time, but I’ve definitely had sessions that have taken every one of those one hundred and eighty minutes! When it’s just parents, the setup is pretty easy, but if younger kiddos are involved it can take an extra few minutes, and if baby is fussy...well, baby is the boss with these things! We did want to do some family shots during Violet’s session, and we got some great pictures of the little lady with her mom and dad. It will give you an idea of just how smoothly things went when I tell you that we were completely wrapped up with this session in just under an hour. I couldn’t believe it. I think that’s a record for a full newborn session with family photos!

I totally loved being the Eugene, Oregon photographer for this little sweetie and her family. Our session couldn’t have gone any better, and I’m so happy with the way it turned out.
