Dustin and Angela brought their adorable new son Luca to my Eugene,
Oregon photography studio last month for newborn pictures. What a sweetheart!
He was a few weeks early so we adjusted our schedules a little bit to get him
in. I was more than happy to do whatever it took to meet this cute little guy!
As is common with babies who arrive a bit early, Luca was
very sleepy during his newborn photography session. He slept like a
dream the whole time! Just a few days before he came in, I had had another
super easy baby in the studio. We got done with her session in just under an
hour, which I think might be a record for a full newborn session. (To give you
an idea of just how quick that is, I should mention that I always book three
hours for a newborn session.) I was stunned at how quickly it went, and then
less than a week later in comes Luca: Another incredibly easy little one and we
wrapped up his session in right around one hour. Yet another rocket fast
newborn photo shoot!
Luca’s last name is Fox, so I had the perfect hat for him to
wear! We also used my lion hat for him. No particular reason, other than that
he looked so irresistibly cute in it! I do have a weakness for baby hats—but as
a newborn photographer my collection comes in handy almost every day.
We used classic blue as our main color in Luca’s newborn
photo session. Always a great color for either gender, but an especially
popular choice for baby boys.
Luca was such a handsome little man. He had beautiful skin, and
his features are so masculine, even as a newborn. You can’t always tell just
from looking at a newborn’s face whether it’s a boy or a girl, but it’s easy to
see that this little guy is all boy!
As with all of my full newborn photography sessions, I
offered mom and dad the option of doing some family pictures during our time
together. They took me up on it and I’m so glad they did! What a beautiful
family! I loved photographing the three of them together and then getting shots
of Angela and Dustin individually with their baby boy. Although that parent-child
relationship lasts forever, babyhood is so fleeting. Before you know it your
infant is more interested in exploring than in being held, so I’m always glad
when parents choose to get those pictures that capture the precious newness of
that bond with their child.
What a fun session! It really was a joy to be the Eugene,
Oregon photographer for Dustin, Angela, and Luca. Even though our time
together was quite a bit shorter than expected due to Luca’s amazing
temperament and sleepiness, I enjoyed every minute of it. I’m so happy for this
wonderful couple and the great new adventure they’re embarking on together! Best
wishes to this threesome!
