This is the last of the maternity photography sessions I did in August. It was so fun to be able to see all these moms and join in the excitement of getting ready to welcome a new baby! Rita is expecting baby number three very soon and the whole family is super excited!
Rita was a gorgeous maternity subject! I especially loved the purple gown on her. So pretty with her skin and dark hair! We tried a few different maternity gowns (all of which looked amazing) and I also got to use a couple of my new backdrops. I like being able to offer my clients lots of variety when it comes to outfits, props, and backgrounds, so I regularly invest in new pieces. My collection is constantly expanding, which enables me to customize every session especially for you. With Rita, we chose a muted floral backdrop for some of our pictures, and then contrasted that with a much darker background to add some drama and flair. Because we were working with mostly neutral colors, I only played around with black and white photos a little bit, and kept most of them in full color.
Loved being Rita’s maternity photographer, and we’re both so happy with the way the pictures turned out!
Are you interested in a maternity session? Here’s what you should know:
Session Options
I offer both studio and outdoor maternity photoshoot options.
With fall weather just around the corner, please note that outdoor sessions are
subject to weather conditions, and may need to be rescheduled or relocated to
the studio if Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate.
You can also choose between a full or mini session. Full maternity
photography sessions are up to an hour long, and have the option of starting
in the studio and ending with a milk bath. With a full maternity session, all
prints, products, and digital images are ordered separately. Mini sessions are available
only to clients who purchase a full newborn session. The mini maternity photoshoot
is about twenty minutes long and includes five high-resolution digital images. Regardless
of which you choose, your spouse/partner and other children are welcome to join
in.
Pricing
Full sessions are $200, and an additional $500 minimum
purchase of prints, products, and/or digital images is required. Mini sessions are
$350, which is an all-inclusive price. If you’d like a milk bath, a $75 fee
applies for either session.
When to Book
When it comes to scheduling your session, earlier is always
better! Although you’re always welcome to check about last-minute bookings, it’s
much more likely that you’ll be able to reserve a spot if you book well in advance.
Maternity sessions are generally best done between 28 and 36 weeks, when your
belly is nice and round, but you still feel comfortable enough to enjoy a photo
session.
