It was so fun to travel to Washington in April for my sister Lindsey’s baby shower! Of course, being a maternity photographer, I had to get some photos too. My sisters know that’s part of the package whenever we get together. And hey, there are worse things than being forced to have professional pictures of the big moments of your life, right?
Lindsey is always such a good sport about modeling for me. I really wanted someone to model a couple of new maternity gowns I’d recently purchased for the studio (a white tulle and a gold sequined dress) so the first evening I was there we went to the beach so Lindsey could show them off against a gorgeous sunset. That part of the session was for me, and I appreciate my little sis being willing to let me do my thing! I love being able to use new dresses in photos right away so that clients can get a good idea of how they look. (Yes, I provide TONS of maternity gown options at my Eugene, Oregon photography studio. You don’t have to worry about what to wear if you’re doing a pregnancy shoot with me!) Thank you, Lindsey, for being a beautiful model for me!
The next day was the baby shower, which was hosted at Lake Sylvia. So much fun! She wore her green dress to the shower so that we could get some more maternity photos of her with her hubby (Nainoa) and my adorable niece Harbor. Aren’t they the sweetest family?
After the shower she changed into my boho lace dress (which was her dress of choice) and did the rest of our maternity photography session in the forested area around Lake Sylvia (which was also the location she wanted.) See, the session wasn’t all about me. 😊 And I have to say, Lindsey has great taste. I loved the combination of lace and woodland!
I’m so glad we were able to create these maternity pictures together. I always love being able to record special times like these for my family members, and I appreciate them being flexible and willing to let me play a little bit. It ends up benefiting us both!
Spoiler Alert: It’s a girl! Lindsey, Nainoa, Harbor, and my
brand new niece (Oaklee Rae) traveled down to Oregon for newborn photos last
month and I got to do pictures and baby snuggles to my heart’s content. One
