I’m excited to show off these gorgeous maternity pictures! Affinity and her husband Shawn came in last month for a session. They are expecting their 5th child and this will also be their last baby, so they wanted to do something extra special. Since they hadn’t done maternity photos when Affinity was pregnant with any of their other kiddos, they decided a maternity photography session would be the perfect way to remember this special time of growing their family. I couldn’t agree more!
One of many clients’ favorite things about their maternity photo shoot is the pampering that happens beforehand! As an expecting mother—especially if you have other children—it is so nice to get the spa treatment every once in a while. Moms, you know what I’m talking about! That’s why my maternity sessions include professional hair and makeup, so you can not only look your best for pictures, but really feel like you’re doing something special for yourself. Affinity told me she loved the pampering and the relaxed feel of having her hair and makeup done professionally at my Eugene, Oregon photography studio before we got the session underway.
Affinity wasn’t the only one who got pampered during her session. She had a really clear idea of what she wanted her photos to look like, so I got to relax too as she let me know her vision and the look she was going for. It was really nice to have so much direction! As a maternity photographer, I have lots of experience and ideas, and I’m happy to jump in with suggestions if needed—or even direct the whole show—but I do love it when clients know exactly what they want and I just have to follow directions. Makes it easy on me!
Affinity chose a beautiful wine-red maternity dress for most of her photos. It looked so good with her skin tone! We also did some nude shots, a couple of other outfits, and some couples maternity photos with both Affinity and Shawn (aren’t they a gorgeous couple?) All of our images turned out so beautiful and were exactly what Affinity wanted. I’m so glad she decided to treat herself to something special as she and Shawn get ready to complete their family circle. Pictures like this are such a treasure!
