This newest little Oregon Ducks fan is just too cute! I did this little lady’s session towards the end of April. It was so wonderful to meet her and see the family again! (I did big sister Penelope’s newborn photography session a couple of years ago.) Always love seeing past clients back in the studio! It’s fun to catch up and see how much little ones have grown since I photographed them as babies.
Baby Abigail was a teeny tiny thing that looked so much like Penelope did as a newborn! (Penelope was born early, so she was very little too. Not anymore though! Look how much she’s grown. Such a gorgeous girl.)
One of the many fun things about being a Eugene, Oregon
newborn photographer comes from the fact that Eugene is a college town—and we
love our college football! I invested early on in some baby-sized jerseys and
outfits in the colors of Oregon’s two rival teams, the Ducks and the Beavers,
so that no matter who parents root for, they can get baby’s team spirit on from
day one! Parents Miah and Robert are Ducks fans, so when Penelope was born we
made sure to include a picture with a green and yellow football outfit along
with all the girly photos. Of course, we had to do the same with Abigail!
We used lots of pinks and purples in Penelope’s session (classic for girls), but decided to do something a little different with Abigail. For our newborn and family photos we used a neutral color palette with lots of grays, whites, and blacks. You really can’t go wrong with basic colors like these, whether you choose to use them as standalones or as the backdrop for some pops of primaries or pastels. And neutrals tend to be great for family pictures since they work well for both genders and most people have several basics in their closet, so it’s easy to coordinate outfits.
For our newborn-only baby pictures, we chose yellow as our
main color. So fun! Yellow isn’t a very common choice, but I absolutely love
it. It’s so sunny and cheerful, and at the height of spring it was the perfect
way to welcome this little ray of sunshine into the world.
So great to see this group again—they really are the sweetest people, and it was wonderful to spend a bit more time with their beautiful, growing family!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog! I hope you’ve
enjoyed reading about the latest sessions.
