Happy October! Anyone else excited for changing colors on the trees, cozy sweaters, and pumpkin spice everything? I’m also excited to share the photos of this adorable baby girl! Little Remy came to my Eugene Oregon newborn photography studio back at the beginning of June for her baby pictures, and they turned out so beautifully!
Mom (Holly) brought Remy in for a full newborn photography session, which includes parent and sibling images if desired, but she wanted to just focus exclusively on baby pics, so that’s what we did. (You can learn more about the difference between full and mini newborn sessions here, and decide what’s right for you.) Remy was an absolutely beautiful baby, so I was perfectly happy to keep my shutter clicking as I captured each expression on her sweet little face.
Mom wanted mostly neutral colors for Remy’s newborn photos, so we stuck to a very muted color scheme. Turned out so pretty! You really can’t go wrong with neutrals, and they’re very easy to incorporate into just about any color scheme/décor style, making them a great option for pictures you plan to frame and display in your home. And of course, using neutrals doesn’t mean you can’t have a little color in there too. Green tends to go really well with lighter colors and earth tones, so I’ll often throw some in—usually in the form of greenery or florals. You can see it doesn’t detract from our natural, classic look at all, and it sneaks a hint of color in there without looking out of place.
Another way to go, if you like the neutral look but also have some colors you want to incorporate, is to choose very light shades of whatever color you’re going for. Very pale shades of just about any color will usually go great with neutrals.
Remy was such a cutie and slept really well for me during her newborn photography session. I love all the cute baby photos we got—they’re going to look so good displayed in the nursery or in a beautiful baby album!
