Erin and Dylan came to see me with their new baby girl, Charlotte, for newborn photos. She was so cute!
I had met Erin before and it was great getting to know Dylan as well. Since both parents were there I convinced them to do family pictures even though they’d decided they were going to bypass those. A lot of times new parents feel super tired and are worried they don’t look their best, or they were too tired to get ready before their little one’s newborn photography session. We’ve all been there! New babies are a lot of work, but family is everything and I really believe it’s worth it to have photos with your little one no matter what. And, as I told Erin and Dylan, the beauty of digital images is that there’s no commitment. You can choose whether you want to purchase them or not, so there’s no harm in taking a few just in case! They ended up loving the family images as well, so I’m really glad we did those shots, even if it wasn’t quite according to plan. They will treasure those pictures forever!
Of course, most of this newborn photography session was focused on baby. Charlotte had the best lips and such beautiful dark hair. We picked out some really pretty rose pinks and mauves and combined them with neutrals for a very warm, feminine look. Bucket poses are really popular right now, so we did some of those, and we also used my wooden heart bowl (another client favorite) surrounded with flowers.
I loved the way Charlotte liked to wrinkle up her little face while she was sleeping!
I’m so glad I could be the Eugene, Oregon newborn photographer for this beautiful baby girl and her parents. If you’re looking for your own newborn photos, I hope you’ll get in touch! (Don’t worry, if you really don’t want to do parent photos I won’t force you.) 😊
