Oh my goodness! We have another set of twins! If things
carry on at this rate I’m going to be a pro at this twin newborn photography thing in no time flat.
These two beautiful little girls, Eloise and Evangeline,
came into my photography studio in
Eugene, Oregon last month with mommy, daddy, and big sister Cordelia. It
was so much fun to photograph them! I did Amy’s maternity session back in
August (you can check out the photos here) so it was wonderful to see
her family again—and to see how much it’s grown!
Eva and Ellie were so well-behaved. As I mentioned in a
previous post, I like to have an extra set of hands to assist during a twin newborn photography session, and
this time my helper was Kim. As my photography business has grown I’ve found
that I want to focus my efforts more exclusively on the photography itself, and
leave the management and administration end to someone else. I pride myself on
my customer service though, so I knew it had to be someone special—and Kim fit
the bill! I hired Kim in September as my studio manager, but she was sporting
enough to assist me with this twin session, even though it falls outside the
range of her official duties. Let’s get real though—who wouldn’t want to help
with these cuties?
When these sweet girls were born, Evangeline was the smaller
of the two, so Eloise had a nickname early on of Ellie Belly to help everyone
remember who was who! By the time they came to the studio though, they had both
gained some weight and were closer in size—and consequently much harder to tell
apart! Despite their almost identical chunkiness, they do both have their own distinctive
little facial characteristics, so you can tell which is which if you look
closely. We’ll have to see if that changes as they get older. Regardless, they
are both absolutely adorable! Beautiful skin, soft dark hair, and those pouty
little lips!
Cordelia loved holding her two baby sisters and was also so
good for the photos. I had wondered how Cordelia would do, going from only
child to oldest of three overnight, but she seems to be adjusting quite well.
Lavender, peach, and gray was the color scheme for this newborn photography session, and we had
fun dressing these girls in outfits and headbands that were close, but not
quite identical—just like them! They look so comfortable napping together, and
were quite happy to snooze the session away.
It was such a pleasure to have Amy, Kevin, Cordelia,
Evangeline, and Eloise in my studio together! They are a fantastic little
family. Well, not such a little family anymore, I guess! It was fun to watch
them interact with each other as we recorded this special and amazing event.
Two new little ones is a big but wonderful adjustment, and I have every
confidence that this family is up for the adventure!
