Swetha and Vivek brought their beautiful little boy, Vivaansh,
in to my photography studio in Eugene,
Oregon to see me in early October. He is such a handsome little guy, and I
can’t wait to share his photos with all of you!
I did Swetha’s maternity session in September at Zumwalt
Park. She had some gorgeous, brightly colored maternity gowns that she brought,
and it was a beautiful session which Vivek was also able to be involved in,
along with their oldest son, Reyaansh. If you missed their session, you can
check out the photos here.
All of my full newborn
photography sessions include parent and sibling images if the family would
like them, but Swetha and Vivek wanted to focus exclusively on Vivaansh for
this particular session, so that’s what we did. I know big brother Reyaansh
wasn’t super excited about having his picture taken when I did his mom’s
maternity session a couple of months ago, so I’m sure he was happy with the
decision!
Vivaansh was excited to get here and was born a bit early—it
was only by a couple of weeks though, so nothing to cause complications or
worry—just an eager young man ready to get started in the world! Maybe he knew that
we just couldn’t wait to meet him! He really is an absolutely beautiful baby, with
the most amazing skin. I love his full head of dark hair and those sweet lips! They
form such a cute little O when he’s relaxed—and Vivaansh seemed totally relaxed
the entire time! He was the perfect little photography subject and slept great
during the entire session. He was also really good about posing, and looked so sweet
and peaceful in every position we tried. Photographing him was a breeze!
We chose mostly blue with a couple of yellow highlights for
Vivaansh’s newborn photography
session. Blue is a very traditional color for baby boys here in the United
States, but Swetha and Vivek changed it up a little by using much lighter,
brighter blues than I usually see people choose. The lightest is almost a robin’s
egg color, which I thought combined surprisingly well with the brown we used
for some of the backgrounds in the collage. And it was a perfect choice for the
moon and stars prop we posed little Vivaansh with. I love it when clients pick fun
and unique color combinations, because they so often hit on combos that are new
and interesting in the best ways, and that almost always turn out looking great
in the pictures.
It was so exciting to meet this new little guy and to get
some wonderful photos of him. He really was so well behaved and a delight to
have in the studio. I’m glad I was able to be the maternity and newborn photographer for this family. I’m
sure Swetha and Vivek have many happy days ahead as they raise their two sons,
and I’m so happy for the joy that little Vivaansh has added to their family!
