I can’t believe it’s December already! Christmas is right
around the corner and has managed to sneak up on me yet again. How it manages
to surprise me annually when it happens at the same time every year is a
mystery to me—but surprise me it does! With the weather getting colder and the
hectic holiday season upon us, I hope taking the time to look at the pictures
of this sweet little girl will warm you right up!
Ellaline made the trip to my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon from Albany with her parents, Cheyenne
and Christian, and I’m so glad they made the time to drive all that way. I had
a wonderful time photographing this beautiful young lady!
Cheyenne has a beautiful sense of style, and I absolutely
love the colors and props she chose for her daughter’s newborn photography session. So soft and feminine, and with just a
touch of the Victorian era about them. Even her name, Ellaline, has an
old-fashioned flavor to it that is so sweet. The creams, pinks, and peaches are
so lovely for a baby girl, and very flattering with Ellaline’s skin tone and
perfect pink baby toes! We used flowers in almost all of the photos—mostly in
the headbands, but also in the background of the swing picture and in the
beautiful floral swaddling blanket that Cheyenne brought from home. Maybe
that’s why this session has such a refreshing springtime feel to it—a welcome
breath of fresh air as we prepare for winter.
In addition to the swaddle, Cheyenne also brought some of
the headbands we used, and the adorable ballerina outfit that Ellaline is
wearing in the picture below. You’ve got to love all that lacy fabric and
cloudy tulle. Such a tired little dancer!
Ellaline has such a sweet face. I love this picture of her
with her chin propped in her hands, dreaming lovely baby dreams. She has
beautiful skin, round cheeks, and lips that pout ever so slightly when she
sleeps. A real angel!
It was a pleasure to be the newborn photographer for
this darling baby girl and her family. Ellaline was so good throughout our
session—and even managed to squeeze a smile in for us! It was also a delight to
have Cheyenne’s sense of style, color, and balance come through so strongly in
this newborn photography session. I
always encourage clients to choose whatever props and colors appeal to them to
really make the photos their own, and it’s fantastic when someone comes in who
has such a clear vision of what they want—especially when they have a great eye
for aesthetics.
So glad I got to have this family in my studio. I hope they thoroughly
enjoy their first holiday season together and make lots of amazing memories! I
feel very lucky to have helped them get started in that process, and I hope
these photos will be the beginning of many wonderful walks down memory lane.
