Thea’s mom brought her back to my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon for a mini milestone session.
It has been about eight months since I last saw this sweet girl, when she was
just a newborn, and although she is growing up so fast, you can definitely
still see some of the same characteristic features she had when she was a brand
new infant: including that amazing dark hair! (If you missed Thea’s newborn
photography session, the pictures are well worth the look, and you can check
them out here.)
Thea was such a good girl for me during this baby photography session, just as she
was several months ago. She is smiley and loves to giggle and explore. We had a
great time in the studio together and got so many wonderful shots. In fact, Thea’s
mom, Annabelle, loved the entire photo gallery so much that she splurged and bought
more than twenty images, rather than the usual five that come as part of a mini
photography session. I can’t blame her. Thea is one adorable girl, and it would
definitely be tough to choose between all the great pictures we got.
Thea’s newborn session was very colorful, but we kept it
simple since this was a mini session: just basic pink and white. The pink and
white batman romper she wore was absolutely perfect. It couldn’t have gone
better with the background I had, and Thea looks so darned cute in it!
As I mentioned, one of the things I loved about Thea when
she was a newborn was her masses of thick, black hair. Her hair was so amazing
when she was tiny that I wouldn’t have believed it was possible for it to get
better over time—but it did! Those dark locks were totally wild and crazy, and
we had quite a time of it trying to keep her bangs out of her eyes. Honestly
though, it was so adorable that some of the time we didn’t even try! She didn’t
seem to mind, and happily crawled around my pink set and did her best to
scramble up onto chairs that are still a bit too tall for her. Maybe next time
I see her she’ll be able to get up there on her own!
Another thing I loved and got to enjoy more now that she’s a
toddler were Thea’s great expressions. She gave me lots of smiles: some that were
big grins and a few that looked like she was just slightly amused by this woman
with the camera. No matter what her expression was though, there was always a
glint of mischief in those big brown eyes. This girl definitely knows how to
have fun!
As a Eugene, Oregon
photographer I always welcome the opportunity to follow some of these sweet
newborns as they grow up with baby and
child milestone photography or family photo sessions. It was fantastic to
see Annabelle and Thea again and I’m glad that they’re doing so well.
