It was so much fun to see Knox again last month for his six
month mini baby photography session!
I’ve been the Eugene, Oregon
photographer for this family for a little while now, and I have so enjoyed
getting to know them! I did Knox’s newborn photos when he first arrived, as
well as his mom’s maternity pictures when she was pregnant with him, and they
are just a fantastic family to work with.
Knox was the cutest, squishiest little thing when he was a
newborn, and I was delighted to discover that, although he’s grown a lot since
I saw him last, he is as cute and squishy as ever! He has the most adorable
facial expressions and I love the way he crinkles up his whole face when he
smiles (which he does a lot—he is a super happy baby). He narrows his eyes
until they’re almost closed, wrinkles his little nose, and just laughs and
giggles for all he’s worth! It is the cutest thing. His giggles are infectious and
I found that I was all smiles while I worked with him. Seriously though, look
at him! Anybody who doesn’t smile back at a face like that has something
seriously wrong with them.
This little guy is really close to sitting up on his own,
although he’s still a little wobbly sometimes. With lots of balancing him and
rearranging his legs every few seconds I was able to get several seated shots,
which added some great variety to this baby
photography session.
We did a very similar color scheme with Knox’s six month pictures
as we did with his newborn session: a very subdued palette with lots of creams and
grays. We also managed to work quite a few props in even though this was a mini
session. Knox was so cheerful and easygoing that I didn’t need to break out
many of my baby photographer tricks coaxing
him to smile, and the fact that he was so close to sitting independently made
things easier as well. He had fun with my tepee, wooden bed (which is more the
size of a chair for him now!) and hollow stump.
When Knox was a newborn, we got a picture of him with a
Seattle Mariners cap, which was way too huge for him at that point. His parents
decided to bring the same cap along this time, and it was so fun to include
that same prop now that he’s getting bigger! Although it’s still a little roomy
for him, he can actually wear it now, and boy, does he make it look good!
I loved the chance to welcome Knox back to my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon,
and we had such a great time together! He is such a happy, smiley little man,
and so photogenic. I couldn’t have gotten a bad shot of him if I’d tried. Mom
and Dad are sure lucky to have such a handsome ray of sunshine in their lives!
