Kelli and Joe brought in Cameron and Makenzi with big
brother Jackson for a baby photography
session last month to document the twins turning one year old. I can’t believe
how big they’ve gotten! It seems like just a couple of weeks ago I had them in
the studio for their newborn pictures, so seeing them again was a reminder of
just how much time has flown by!
We thought it would be fun to pose the twins on my little
white bed for one of their photos, just like when they were newborns, as a way
to show off how much they’ve grown! It’s always fun to include a prop from baby’s
newborn pictures in later sessions as a bit of a throwback. It’s something
memorable to look back on, and, as in this case, can sometimes serve as a
physical marker of baby’s growth. As you can see, the bed they were able to
snooze in together a year ago is now only big enough to hold both of them when
they’re sitting up on it like a couch—and quite a small couch, at that. They
are too cute (then and now!)
In addition to the bed, we were able to work quite a few
props into this one year baby milestone
photography session, which made for a very adventurous time with our two
little stars. These two didn’t just spend their time sitting around. Oh, no. Not
only did they get to go boating together, but Cameron even managed to squeeze a
hot air balloon ride into the hour he spent in my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon. Busy times!
I think Cameron looks like a miniature version of his
brother, Jackson, and I can see a lot of her dad in Makenzi. Both of the twins
did an awesome job for me, and were too adorable in their “wild one” shirts! They
were both really smiley as well, and Makenzi especially liked making faces at
the camera! I remember even when she was a newborn she was the one we had to
keep an eye on: Cameron slept peacefully the whole time, but Makenzi wanted to
make her voice heard! It’s super cute when babies start asserting their
personalities that early on, and it’s good to know that Makenzi still likes to
express herself. (And that she’s getting a little more creative with it: I’ll
take making faces over crying any day!)
It was great to get pictures of everybody together this time
around. I loved including some parent and sibling shots in our baby photography session, and they
turned out so fun! Kelli and Joe should be so proud of their family! This is a
great group and I’m glad that I get to be their Eugene, Oregon photographer. I hope I’ll continue to see them every
once in a while as the kiddos continue to grow, because I love to document
those exciting changes in the lives of little ones and their families.
