I can’t believe it has already been a year since I did this
cutie’s newborn session! Where does the time go? Evelyn came in for her one
year baby photography session at the
end of September with her parents, Andrew and Samantha. I was so happy to see all
of them again. Evelyn was absolutely adorable—all smiles and totally up for a
photo session. Yay! No need to coax this girl to smile! She seemed to know exactly
what I was doing with the camera and loving it. She has got the cutest little
face too, and boundless energy! We had a great time together.
I usually advise people to keep things simple for a mini milestone photography session, and
that’s what we did here. A single backdrop and outfit, and just three props. I
keep a well-stocked studio, which can make it hard for clients to choose from
all the options, but I can always give some advice if you’re struggling. Since
the aim of a mini milestone photo session really is just to provide you with a
handful of quality photographs—a professional session snapshot, if you will, of
your little one’s current stage of life—simple really is best. In this case, by
choosing a distinctive color scheme and a couple of neutral props, we were able
to make our photos really cohesive.
I loved the colors we decided on for Evelyn’s baby photography session. The soft blue
and deeper pinks and yellows in our backdrop made our pictures really bright
and cheery. Even though we were moving into fall at the time of this session,
the photos still have a sunny, summertime feel. And Evelyn’s mint green dress
is so cute and comfy-looking. And the tights! Is it just me, or are baby girls
in tights the cutest thing ever? She had a great time showing off for the
camera and I was glad she felt comfortable. Working with kiddos this age is so
fun—and unpredictable! I never have a dull day in the studio, and often feel so
lucky to be a Eugene, Oregon photographer.
It’s a joy to work with these sweet little ones and their families.
Mini milestone sessions are an ideal way to record your
little one’s growth as they learn how to smile, sit up, crawl, walk, and talk.
Babies change so much in the first few years of life, and it’s worth the
investment to have professional photos of these milestones. You can find out
more about details and pricing for this and other types of sessions here.
I was also glad of this chance to have Evelyn in my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon,
because very soon she’s not going to be the only little one in the family! I found
out that Samantha and Andrew are expecting a little boy next year. I’m so
excited for them! We have already started planning maternity and newborn
pictures, and I can’t wait to have the whole family back!
