Is everyone else loving the sunshine and spring weather as
much as I am? The weather in Eugene has been spectacular (all the more so after
our out-of-the-blue snowstorm), and it is making me so happy! I love seeing the
daffodils and snowdrops coming up, and the sunshine is giving me an itch for
summer.
Although it’s gorgeous right now, the weather was still very
chilly back in February, when I did this maternity
photography session for Erica, so we stayed inside for these photos. Erica
wanted a full maternity session, but she also wanted to do a milk bath, so we decided
to divide the session for the best of the both worlds—we spent half of our
session time in my Eugene, Oregon
photography studio, and the other half in my master bathroom. Who says you
can’t have it all?
As a Eugene, Oregon
photographer I always try to give my clients a unique, personalized
experience when they come to my studio. If you have anything special you’re looking
for as we plan your session, please let me know! I’ll be happy to see if I can
accommodate your request, or suggest options for how we might be able to
achieve your vision.
Since Erica and her husband Mark are expecting a little
girl, she chose my blush pink gown for the studio shots. I generally use either
a very light or very dark background for studio maternity photography. You can see that we selected the dark one
for Erica’s session. It goes beautifully with her dark hair and also provides
some contrast for the maternity gown.
Erica had seen photos from some of my other milk bath photography sessions and loved
them. I have lots of maternity gowns for clients to choose from, but there is a
black lace and white lace one that tend to be especially popular for milk
baths. Erica really liked the look of the black gown against the white milk
bath. She still wanted some pink in there too though, so we used some beautiful
pale pink flowers that my florist provided. The choice of flowers is often the
most personal touch in milk bath photography—I thought pink was a wonderful
selection here. The black, pink, and white made for such a pretty combination.
I so enjoyed meeting Erica and Mark and getting to know them
a little as we prepared for their new baby girl with a special maternity photo
shoot. Our images turned out wonderfully and I loved capturing this amazing
season of their lives! These pictures will be a treasure to look back on after
their little one arrives.
If you’re interested in booking a milk bath maternity
session of your own, be sure to check out some samples of previous sessions:
Brooke chose the same black gown that Erica did; Alex chose flowers in muted,
pastel shades; and Annabelle incorporated a rainbow baby theme for her milk bath. Once
you’re ready to reserve your date, or if you’d like more information, please
get in touch with me!
