These pictures are from a family photography session
I did back near the beginning of December. Lori, Scott, and Samantha came to
the studio for some long overdue family photos. They hadn’t gotten new family
pictures since Samantha was just a little thing, and I’m so glad they asked if
I could help them with bringing their photos up to date.
Samantha is in my daughter’s class at school, so we’ve gotten
to know each other a bit over the years, but it was fun to see this family
outside of school activities. Samantha is such a gorgeous young lady and they
are really an awesome family.
We did most of our family photography session in my Eugene,
Oregon photography studio. We wanted to get pics of the whole family, plus
some portraits of Samantha, couples images, and daddy-daughter/mother-daughter
shots. They are naturals in front of the camera, so we squeezed it all in with
no trouble at all.
December isn’t usually a particularly conducive month for
outdoor pictures (especially in our area of wet winters), but Lori and Scott
had recently added an adorable new puppy to the family, so we wanted to do a few
outdoor shots that would include the four-legged family member. Family pictures
just aren’t complete without everybody in them—including the furry ones!
We got lucky with the weather—it was chilly, but dry—so I
laid a blanket in my yard and we did a little bit of outdoor photography as
well. Their puppy is so cute! High-energy and easily distracted, like any dog
at that age, so it took our combined efforts, but we got some great shots.
Lori and Scott ended up using some of these photos as
Christmas gifts for their family, which I think is perfect! I’m sure their family
members loved getting beautiful, professional images of their loved ones to
display in their homes. As a family photographer, I truly believe there’s
nothing more important than our families. I love being able to capture those wonderful
relationships for others!
