Wow. It has been a crazy time these last few weeks. I can’t
believe it’s been almost two months since I posted on the blog! It’s been quite
the journey, and things have been changing so fast I can hardly keep up.
In the
middle of March I posted about the things I was doing to keep clients safe during COVID-19, and just a couple of weeks later I, along with many other
photographers, voluntarily decided to close my Eugene, Oregon photography studio
until the worst of this crisis had passed. The safety of my clients is
paramount. It’s something I take especially seriously because I work with
newborns, young children, and mamas-to-be. So I know it was absolutely the right
move to close the studio, but I have missed everyone so much! It’s been a long
eight weeks.
I am super excited to have the studio open again and to be
back at work doing what I love best: newborn photography. I’ll be
posting some of my newer sessions (including the many I had to reschedule due
to COVID-19) in the near future. In the meantime, I’ll step back to last year
and share some of the wonderful sessions I was able to do before the
coronavirus outbreak. Hope they bring some sunshine to your day!
This little sweetheart (Alivia) came to the studio about a
week before Thanksgiving for her newborn photography session. I was so
thrilled to meet her! Her parents, Sarah and Kody, had been waiting for her
arrival for a long time. She is their sweet rainbow baby and is absolutely
beautiful. Alivia was born a little over seven weeks early and needed some time
in the NICU before she was ready to come home with mom and dad. By the time I
saw her in the studio though, she was doing great. Still just the teeniest
little thing, but healthy and happy. She slept like an angel the whole time.
Speaking of angels, mama also brought in a cute angel outfit
for us to use. So sweet. As a newborn photographer, I keep tons of
outfits and props in my studio for parents to choose from, but I am always up
for mom and dad bringing in their own items to really personalize their little
one’s baby photos.
Mom and Dad also brought in an elk antler and a deer antler,
which we incorporated into our pictures. I love how that photo looks like a
work of art for their walls.
It was wonderful to photograph this adorable baby girl and
her family, and to spend some time with them in my studio right before the holidays.
I am so happy for Sarah and Kody. They and their daughter make the most beautiful
little family and I wish them every happiness.
