Here’s another newborn photography session from
December. This one took place just a few days before Christmas. December tends to
be a busy month for everyone, but I’m always glad families make the time to
visit the studio and bring their sweet babies to see me. Jessica and Terry
brought in their little guy Harrison for photos shortly after they welcomed him
to the family. He was such a cutie! Enjoy the photos!
Harrison was a great little sleeper, which is always great
for me as a newborn photographer. Sleepy babies are so easy to work with
and make the session go really quickly and smoothly. He was also so handsome
and had just the most amazing skin! I barely had to retouch it at all in
Photoshop during the editing process, which is actually pretty rare for a
newborn. It’s not uncommon for newborn skin to be a little jaundiced, or to
have red or flaky patches. With the magic of editing technology that kind of
thing isn’t a problem—I just fix it later when I edit—but with Harrison’s
perfect skin I felt like I barely had to edit at all.
One of the decisions parents have to make when they bring
baby in for photos is what colors to use. I have tons of options at the studio,
so everyone is sure to find a combination that’s perfect for them. Gray and
blue is a pretty popular color combination for baby boys, but I really love the
shade of blue mom and dad chose for Harrison’s newborn photography
session. Such a nice color—just a touch darker than sky blue, but since it’s
brighter than navy it provides a really good contrast to the gray.
It was wonderful to have this handsome little guy and his
parents in my Eugene, Oregon photography studio. Harrison was such an
easy baby to work with and I had tons of fun posing and photographing him. I
love the beautiful images we were able to create, and hope you’ve enjoyed
