I always look forward to my annual photo sessions with these girls! I’ve been photographing them at least once a year since big sister Annalise was just a newborn and it’s always a delight to see them again. We had just as much fun with this milestone photography session as we always do—these girls are a hoot!
(If you’d like to check out their previous sessions, I’ve linked them here so you can take a look at these two little cuties over the years. So fun to see them change and grow. I did Annalise by herself as a newborn, and at the one-year and two-year marks, then I did mom’s maternity session when was she pregnant with Thea. Of course we did newborn and one-year sessions starring Thea, and since then we’ve had an annual “sisters session” with the two girls each year in 2018, 2019, and now 2020!)
I was so glad parents Josh and Annabelle contacted me again this year about doing another child photography session for their girls. As a Eugene, Oregon photographer I love being able to see my repeat clients again and again. It’s been great to get to know these two little girls and see their personalities blossom as they grow. Big sister Annalise is a total character—always making silly faces, cracking jokes, and laughing—and making the rest of us laugh too! Thea is a little sweetheart and just adores her sister. The two of them have such a good time together and it’s a pleasure just to watch them.
Our annual “sisters sessions” have all been outdoors so far, and we wanted to keep with that tradition this year. We met at Wayne Morse Family Farm here in Eugene, Oregon on a beautiful evening near the end of June. The girls were all dressed up in their adorable white dresses and totally irresistible, as usual.
We brought a couple of props to add an extra element of fun and whimsy. For the most part though, when you’re outside you can let the great outdoors take care of the backdrops and props. Wayne Morris has a beautiful farmhouse and white fence that both make great backgrounds for photos, and of course there are all the pretty flowers and lush grass.
One of the things I love about outdoor portrait sessions is that they can be so child-led. I usually do a combination of posed and natural shots, so it’s really fun to let the kiddos run and play and just be themselves while I capture it all with the camera.
So glad I got to see this family again for a portrait photography session! Things may not be completely back to normal with COVID still going on, but times like this can help me forget everything that isn’t perfect and focus on the joys of childhood and the importance of family. Thanks Annabelle, Josh, Annalise and Thea for a fun-filled evening and another amazing session! Love you guys!
