Welcome back—and happy birthday, Jayne!
Jayne recently turned one year old and made a return visit
to my photography studio in Eugene,
Oregon for a birthday photography
and cake smash session. This was the third time she’s been in my studio, and I
have loved all the opportunities to photograph her in different stages over
this first year of her life. I hope that in the coming years I will have many
more chances to work with her. She’s an absolute delight! She is such a happy
baby—and super tall! Every time I see her I can’t believe how much she’s grown.
I envy her the gorgeous long legs she’s going to have when she grows up.
We had a wonderful time with our cake smash. I don’t think it
could have gone any better. Jayne love love loved her cake! I’ve done lots of
cake smashes and seen lots of different reactions from kiddos, but I have
honestly never seen a baby quite so delighted with cake before. Sometimes the
texture and sugary sweetness are a little too much for some babies, but Jayne
thought everything about it was fantastic. She must have a serious sweet tooth—and
no problem with getting a little messy! It was a blast to watch her having such
a good time, and I’m glad I got to be the one to capture her birthday
celebration and that contagious grin of hers! Doesn’t she look great in a party
hat and frosting?
We used lots of sparkles and glam for the cake smash portion—we
were celebrating, after all—then toned it down for the rest of the baby photography session, but we kept a
pink theme throughout to tie it all together. I love her cute little pink dress.
And she looks so cozy with that patchwork quilt and her stuffed animal friends
keeping her company.
We also got some more casual shots, a prime example of which
is below. I can’t get over how cute this kid is! She looks so chill and relaxed
in this picture, just kicking back and flashing a grin at the camera. And what
a sense of style! I think babies look so cute in jeans—maybe because the
similarity to adult clothes accentuates how young and adorable they are. If
only jeans kept having that same effect as we got older, right?
It was so much fun to have this sweet kiddo in my Eugene, Oregon photography studio
again, and to celebrate her special day with a baby photography session. I love spending time with Jayne! Her
happiness and love of life is good for my soul—and absolutely infectious! She
is like a ray of sunshine in our rainy Oregon weather. Hopefully the photographs
of this cutie have been a bright spot in your day as well. Enjoy them, and keep
an eye out for more. I think a little gal as cute as this is destined to spend
more quality time in front of a camera!
Oh my goodness! What a sweet post about my sweet girl! We absolutely love our pictures. And I think she did so well with the cake because of your advice to give her a little bit of a cake a few times before the session. I know all of us will treasure all the special pics you got in her first year!!!
ReplyDeleteI also love the little pink dress! I had not seen the one in the jeans, I would have such a hard time choosing any one of the pictures--they are all so adorable. She is the cutest, happiest baby I know, always has such a sweet smile for you. Thank you for taking these great pictures for our memories. She is growing way too fast!
