Please join me in welcoming Isla to the blog!
I met Alia (Isla’s mom) and her sweet girls a couple of
Christmas seasons ago when they came to me for a Christmas mini session. They
are part of a wonderful blended family and I was so happy to see them
again—this time with a brand-new addition to the family! It was also a pleasure
to meet her husband’s two older daughters who were visiting from California. It
was such a fun experience just to be in the same room with this family and feel
all the love they had for Isla! She is a very lucky girl to have so many people
to love her and take care of her as she grows up.
This girl was a great little sleeper. She was as happy as a
clam through her entire newborn
photography session, as you can see from the contented smile on her face as
she curls up on a lacy pillow for some sweet dreams. Isn’t that the cutest
little face you ever saw?
Isla was as cooperative a subject as any newborn photographer could wish for,
and we were able to get lots of beautiful pictures with lots of different
settings and outfits. Even when she woke up, which she did while mom and dad
were holding her for some small group shots, she just looked at me curiously for
a while and then went right back to sleep again. Don’t she and her parents look
wonderful together?
Isla is such a pretty girl, with lots of dark hair just like
her mom, and absolutely beautiful skin. It has a lovely rosy tone to it that
went perfectly with the dusky pink that we used for the background on many of
her photos. You’d think that color was made especially for her!
Speaking of color, I loved the colors Alia chose for Isla’s newborn photography session. Aside from
going incredibly well with Isla’s skin tone, the dusky pink and cream are so
soothing and feminine, and I love the splash of purple that makes a surprise
appearance in some of these baby pictures—most noticeably in the picture below,
where Isla nestles in the middle of a wreath of lavender-colored flowers. Such
a pretty, almost fairy-like setting for a beautiful baby girl. This photo also
has lots of texture going for it, which lends depth and interest without
distracting from the star of the show.
It was a real delight to welcome Isla and her parents and
sisters to my photography studio in
Eugene, Oregon for this newborn
photography session. There was a lot of excitement over her arrival and I
thoroughly enjoyed sharing in it and recording it for their family to look back
on and remember in the days ahead. The addition of a new member to this
wonderful family is so fun and exciting. I’m super happy for them!
I hope you’ve enjoyed the pictures of this beautiful girl.
She is a real treasure!
