I’m so excited to introduce all of you to Landon!
This sweet little man was brought into my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon
last month for a newborn photography
session. He was accompanied by his parents, Justin and Melissa, and his big
sister Hadley, and we had a great session together.
I did Melissa’s maternity photos when she was
pregnant with Hadley, and also did Hadley’s newborn photos a couple of
years ago, so it was exciting to see them again! I was so happy that the whole
family was able to make it into the studio. They are such a great group to work
with. Little Hadley has grown a ton since I last saw her, and there’s something
in her features that makes her look so much like her dad! I love her curly hair,
dark eyebrows, and striking eyes. It’s a little too soon to know which of his
parents Landon is going to take after, but we’ll see. Doesn’t he have the
cutest smile? And that bear hat! Talk about the best teddy bear in the world!
Hadley absolutely loves her baby brother, and it’s clear she’s
going to make a wonderful older sister. She did so good for photos: it totally
took me by surprise, because, you know, she’s two. She was an angel of a two-year-old
though—and if you know anything about kiddos that age, you know that’s saying a
lot!
Justin is a police officer in Springfield, so we made sure
to get in a couple of set-ups to represent that. It’s always fun when we’re
able to incorporate something personal into the session, whether that’s a
parent’s profession, a grandparent’s hobby, or a family heirloom, so I enjoyed
working some of Justin’s things into his son’s newborn photography session. It’s clear Landon has some growing to do
before he’ll be able to wear his daddy’s hat and badge, but he’s still one of
the sweetest boys in blue I’ve ever seen!
We decided to go with blue and brown for Landon’s newborn photography color scheme. Landon
is so adorable and looks perfect with these traditional baby boy colors. It’s fun
to get creative, but sometimes tried and true is the way to go, and I think it
turned out great in this case. Aside from the props from Justin’s police
uniform, we also kept this session pretty simple and really let Landon shine as
the star of the show.
It was wonderful to have Melissa, Justin, Hadley, and Landon
in the studio again. I enjoyed reconnecting with them, catching up on their
news, and meeting the newest member of their family—the biggest and best news
of all, right? I don’t know what the future holds for them, but I hope I’ll be
able to have them all in the studio again at some point. They really are a fantastic
family and I always enjoy it when I have the chance to spend a little bit of
quality camera time with them!
