I hope everyone had a healthy, happy, and fun-filled holiday
season! I had a wonderful time being with my family and enjoying the traditions
and festivities. This is always a busy time of year, but the excitement on my
kiddos’ faces on Christmas morning makes it all worth it. It’s fun to make the
magic happen. I also love the beautiful decorations and festive props I get to
use in my photography sessions as a Eugene,
Oregon photographer.
Last month, although I did lots of holiday-themed photo
shoots, I was also able to do some season-neutral newborn photography and family
photography. One of these sessions was for this sweet little boy, Dane. He
is such a cute baby and I had a great time doing this photography session with
him and his parents and older sisters. I first photographed this family for Briella’s
newborn pictures, when Evie was just a couple years old. They are still as adorable
as I remember them, and I loved being able to see what beautiful girls they are
growing into, to catch up with mom and dad, and to help the family welcome
their newest member. We got some great pictures, and I hope you enjoy them!
Dane’s daddy, Jeremie, is an electrical lineman by trade,
but his passions are hunting and fishing, so we represented fishing with my
boat prop and hunting with a cute deer outfit that Dane’s mom, Angie, brought
for us to use during this newborn
photography session.
We used blue, brown, and cream for the color scheme of Dane’s
baby pictures. It’s a classic and flexible combination that is interesting enough
to stand on its own, yet still allows for the insertion of occasional splashes
of other colors, like the red bow in Briella’s hair or Evie’s plum-colored
dress.
Briella and Evie were so good with their new little brother.
It was really sweet to watch them all together, and the girls were wonderful
about posing for photographs. They are both naturals in front of the camera and
I love their smiles! Evie definitely takes after her mom with her darker
coloring, while Briella inherited her dad’s lighter hair. It looks like maybe
Dane is going to look like his daddy as well—although it’s always a little difficult
to tell this early on. Babies change so much during the first couple years of
life.
Dane was such a good boy for me while I took pictures. He
was sleepy and adorable, and quite happy to be held and cuddled, changed into new
outfits, and posed in different positions. As a newborn photographer, it’s always nice to have such an easygoing
baby as a subject! He was a sweetheart who was a pleasure to work with.
I’m so glad this family is doing well, and I’m delighted
that I had another chance to welcome them to my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon and to record this exciting
change in their lives! I’m sure they have a wonderful new year ahead of them.
