Brittanie and Colby welcomed their new son in early March,
and I was so glad to see them in the studio a couple of weeks later! I did
Brittanie’s maternity session before baby’s arrival, and I’ve been looking
forward to meeting him ever since. He was totally worth the wait. Little Knox
was one of the cutest babies I’ve photographed: he was just a little ball and
so squishy! It was impossible not to fall completely in love with him. We got
lots of great photographs during this newborn
photography session and I’m so excited to share them with all of you! They
turned out great.
Knox was a hungry little guy for some of our session, so we
had to pause a couple times so he could get some food into his tummy. Once his
belly was full though he was happy to cooperate and slept like a champ. During one
of his snack breaks he even stayed awake long enough to let me take a picture
of his beautiful gray-blue baby eyes. Isn’t he such a handsome fella? I love
that his hair has that little tinge of red! I’m guessing that will darken
pretty quickly as he grows, but it’s sure adorable while it lasts.
We stayed very basic with our color scheme for this newborn photography session: almost
entirely grays, with an occasional splash of blue or green; and cream, black,
and white for the photos of Knox with his mom and dad. I love how the family
photos turned out. Brittanie, Colby, and Knox look so perfect together.
Since this is Eugene and our resident sports team is the
Oregon Ducks, we had to incorporate a sporty baseball cap for our little man to
wear. Dad wanted to make sure Knox had his sports loyalties in place right from
the get go, and as a Eugene, Oregon
photographer I was happy to oblige! I have to say, Knox looks great in
green.
We also got a photo of him with a Seattle Mariners cap, which we
included in our collage below. He’s got a bit of growing to do still before that
particular cap will fit him!
I think my favorite photo in the collage is the one on the
lower left. Seriously. Are those not the best cheeks you’ve ever seen?
Our gray color scheme made it perfect to include a fuzzy
Where the Wild Things Are outfit. He looks so precious in it! I don’t doubt
that he will become more of a wild thing as he grows and will keep his mom and
dad very busy—but for now he is a pretty mellow baby, content to eat and sleep
and let his parents love on him to their hearts’ content.
I enjoyed every minute I spent with Knox and his parents in
my photography studio in Eugene, Oregon.
They are such a wonderful family, super easy to work with, and very photogenic!
What newborn photographer could ask
for a better combination?
