Eugene, Oregon newborn photographer: Welcome Emlyn!

Melissa and Richard brought their sweet daughter Emlyn to the studio last month for a newborn photography session. She is the cutest thing, and I love the name they chose for her. We ended up having a great mini session. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the photos of this beautiful little one!

Mom and Dad requested the deer hat for Miss Emlyn and she looked so adorable in it! I keep my Eugene, Oregon photography studio well-stocked with props, outfits, backdrops, and accessories so that I can help my clients create the perfect setup for their session. Of course, clients are always welcome to bring outfits and items from home to personalize their photos as well. I’m more than happy to incorporate those items that have special meaning to you and your family. You can learn more about my studio and amenities here. If you’re expecting a new baby and thinking of booking a session, please get in touch! I would love to answer any questions, discuss your vision, and help you plan your ideal baby photography session.

Since this was a mini session, we had one hour to get all the shots we wanted. Luckily for us, Emlyn was a great little sleeper and it was easy to get plenty of beautiful baby pictures without any trouble at all. She was happy to let me do my thing, and I was able to pose her without disturbing her a bit. I wish I could sleep like that!

Emlyn’s newborn photography session is a great example of what you can do with a mini photo shoot. Props are usually limited or not used at all, depending on the parents’ preference, but you can still get a nice variety simply by using a couple of different backdrops and a few hats, headbands, and swaddles. Mini photo sessions for newborns include five digital images, although parents are welcome to purchase more if desired. Because the photos are high-resolution, they can easily be enlarged and framed or printed on canvas without any loss of quality. As a Eugene, Oregon photographer, I believe that professional photos are the perfect way to decorate a home!

Emlyn was such a beautiful baby! She has perfect pale skin and red hair, just like her mom. The fawn-colored deer hat was the perfect choice for her coloring, and we used pale cream and gray with a touch of soft pink in the rest of our photos. It’s a very muted color scheme that is so pretty, and we mixed in a few black-and-white baby pictures as well. I love the way it turned out.

It was wonderful to spend some time with this family and to be the newborn photographer for little Emlyn. She is a gem and her parents just love her to bits. I can see why! I’m so happy for this family and glad I was able to capture this exciting time in their lives. Congratulations to Melissa and Richard on the birth of a beautiful daughter!

Eugene, Oregon baby photographer: Hattie is ONE!

Hattie’s mom, Shanna, brought her in last month for a one year birthday cake smash photography session. Shanna (yes, her name is both spelled and pronounced the same as mine!) wanted to do a strawberry theme to go along with the banner and adorable outfit she had made for Hattie. What a talented lady! Looks like when it comes to the sewing machine she is a force to be reckoned with! Both the outfit and the banner were so cute and I was more than willing to figure out something a little different to match.

Eugene, Oregon maternity photographer: Milk bath with Kelsey

Kelsey came in for a milk bath maternity photography session last month. She was expecting a little boy in early November. Needless to say, he is here now! I did his Fresh 48 photos in the hospital shortly after he was born, and will be doing his newborn photos as well. He’s such a sweetheart! Be sure to keep an eye on the blog   for his pictures!

Eugene, Oregon baby photographer: 6-month milestone session with Lily

Oh my goodness, you are going to love the photos of this sweet baby girl! What an angel face! Audrey and Daniel brought Lily to my Eugene, Oregon photography studio at the end of March for her 6-month milestone photography session. Most of the 6-month-olds I photograph are little ones I took pictures of as newborns, but Lily and her parents were first-time clients. It was wonderful to meet them. And we had so much fun together! I usually set aside an hour for milestone sessions, but I very rarely use the whole time with 6-month-olds because they tend to get tired by about the 40 minute mark. Not Lily! She was sweet-faced and smiley the entire hour. I didn’t even want to stop at that point because we were having such a good time. And honestly, she was probably one of the most gorgeous, photogenic babies I’ve ever photographed. She seriously has the most perfect little face! She loved the camera, and the camera definitely loved her! Because Lily was so happy and cooperative, we got to
