Lyndley, Matt, and big brother Alex brought new baby
Adrienne to see me at my Eugene, Oregon photography studio at the end of
July. Alex is in the same class as my youngest daughter, so I’ve gotten to know
this family through school over the last few years and they are the sweetest
people you’ll ever meet. I was very excited when I heard they were expecting
another baby, and thrilled that they asked me to be the newborn photographer
for their daughter.
Adrienne made an early and scary arrival, but I’m happy to
report that all is well now. She had us all worried, and I’m so relieved that
she was able to receive great care and that everything ended happily. Having a
baby is such an emotional experience anyway, and when it’s accompanied by a
scare like that it can be such a hard thing. Adrienne was still on the small
side when I photographed her, but she is healthy, happy, and doing great.
This little sweetheart is a rainbow baby, so we knew we
wanted to tie that in. As a loss mom myself, I know personally how important it
is to remember and honor the little ones we can’t hold in this life. I keep a
special selection of rainbow accessories at the studio especially for amazing
rainbow babies like Adrienne. In this case, we chose a rainbow headband,
blanket, and backdrop to combine with my moon and stars prop.
Mom was very excited about my black and white striped
backdrop with the gold hearts because it matched Adrienne’s nursery perfectly.
That’s one of my favorite backdrops for little girls—bold, but still totally
girly—and I’ve found that it works really well with a surprising variety of
color schemes.
As a Eugene, Oregon photographer, I also keep a few
sports-oriented outfits and props on hand.
Eugene is a university town and we
love our local college sports team—the Oregon Ducks. Adrienne looked so cute in
her tiny college jersey, hugging a miniature football that was still almost as
big as she was!
We made sure to get some family pictures during this newborn
photography session. I loved capturing the happiness of this sweet family,
and big brother Alex did such a good job holding his new baby sister and posing
for pictures with her. I am so happy for all of them and wish every member of
this beautiful family all the happiness in the world!
If you’re considering a professional newborn photography
session for your little one, I would love to hear from you! Believe me, this
type of an investment is one you will never regret. Photos are tangible
memories—moments you can hold and treasure for years to come. And these moments
of newness with your baby go by so quickly! Newborn photography brings me so
much joy—and I would love to share that joy with you! Please feel free to
contact me anytime—I’m looking forward to it already!
